Native Canadian Centre of Toronto: Creating community with Care to Share
Oakville, ON: For many Aboriginal people living and visiting the GTA, the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto, located in the heart of downtown Toronto, is one of the first places they visit. As a cultural meeting place, the Centre itself is a way to stay connected to the Aboriginal community.
The Centre offers a wide range of cultural programs and activities based on Aboriginal traditions and teachings. As November's Care to Share recipient AtlasCare donated $1,000 to support its Children's Program which teaches participants Aboriginal values and practices through activities such as, the making of traditional masks, regalia and dream-catchers.
