AtlasCare sponsors and participates in a variety of community-based events to help not-for-profit organizations continue their important work. We are proud to be involved with so many worthwhile initiatives, organizations and events.
AtlasCare: Supporting those that are there to Lend an Ear
Oakville, ON: When a person is in need, sometimes just having someone to talk to can make all the difference, and that is the mandate of Telecare Burlington. They are a non-profit, all volunteer organization providing 24 hour, confidential, call in service to those in need of a little kindness and compassion.
Telecare Burlington is June’s recipient of a $1,000 donation from AltasCare’s Care to Share program and will use the funds to support its volunteers, those that make their program possible.

Oakville ON: There are over half a million young people living in the GTA. And it is the vision of Youth Unlimited that through strategic partnerships and alliances as well as their own front-line endeavours, they will reach out to all these young people and help them attain their full life potential and a bright future.

AtlasCare Donation is Music to ErinoakKids’ Ears
Oakville, ON: Music can change a person’s mood. It can get folks up dancing, or help them mellow out after a busy day. For the kids at ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development, music is a way to help children with disabilities deal with stress and to reach out and communicate with others.
ErinoakKids is a recent AtlasCare Care to Share recipient of $1,000 and will use the funds to support its Music Therapy Program.

PAL Reading Service Inc. Brings the Written Word to Life
Oakville, ON: The simple act of reading a textbook for school, a favourite novel, an instruction manual or even a love letter can be a challenge or impossible for those who are blind or dealing with other visual impairments, learning disabilities or motor handicaps. The volunteers at PAL Reading work every day to bring the written word to life for those
who need it most.
PAL Reading is a recent AtlasCare Care to Share recipient of $1,000 and will use funds to support its Summer Reading program for people in the Greater Toronto Area.

$1,000 Donation Significant Boon to Mississauga Chapter of the MS Society
Oakville, ON: What’s in a name? If that name is Multiple Sclerosis, the possibilities are endless. MS is unpredictable and can affect vision, hearing, memory, balance and mobility. There is no cure. But there is help. The Mississauga Chapter of the MS Society provides numerous programs and services for those living with MS, and for their families and caregivers.
As the recipient of a $1,000 donation from AtlasCare’s Care to Share Program, the Mississauga Chapter has much-needed support for its two Funding Programs: the Equipment Program helps members purchase necessary equipment such as stair glides, wheelchairs, walkers and hospital beds, and the Special Assistance Program supports clients’ personal needs such as child care, respite care and transportation to appointments.

Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children - Giving Hope and Encouragement to Build Better Futures
Oakville, ON: By providing peer support in a safe, caring, non-judgemental environment, The Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children offers bereaved children, teenagers and their families and caregivers the support they need as they cope with their loss.
The Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children is January's recipient of a $1,000 donation from AtlasCare's Care to Share Program. They will use the donation for program and training materials so they can better meet the ever increasing requests for their programs. They offer support groups for grieving children (ages 3-12), teens (ages 13-18), and their caregivers.

Moorelands: Creating Community and Changing Lives
Oakville, ON: Confidence, competence and character are attributes Moorelands Community Services works every day to instil in the lives of Toronto's low-income and high-need children and youth. Through its after-school, leadership and camp programs, this community benefit organization is creating valuable connections and changing lives.
Moorelands Community Services is December's recipient of a $1,000 donation from AtlasCare's Care to Share Program.
The donation will help send two children to Moorelands' after-school program in the low-income neighbourhood of Flemingdon Park. Programming includes homework help, crafts, outdoor activities, sports, cooking sessions, literacy activities, educational workshops and special theme days.
